Paraffin Gauze

Paraffin Gauze

Paraffin gauze, an open-weave gauze dressing soaked in paraffin so that it does not stick to the wound.

Typical use

The paraffin coating lets the dressing be lifted away from burns, grafts and superficial wounds without tearing new tissue. It is used as a contact layer under an absorbent pad and bandage, which take up the wound fluid through the open mesh.

Before you order

Choose the piece size and pack count, and confirm each dressing is sterile and individually wrapped. Ask about the paraffin content, the mesh and whether an antiseptic version is also offered for wounds at risk of infection.
