High Polymer Splint
A high polymer splint, a lightweight perforated plastic splint that is shaped to the limb for immobilising fractures and sprains.
Typical use
Polymer splints are lighter than plaster and let air reach the skin through the perforations. Many can be softened in warm water, moulded to the limb and left to harden, and they are used for temporary support after injuries.
Before you order
Choose sizes for the limbs you treat, and ask how the splint is softened and shaped, the time it takes to set and the temperature involved. Confirm the padding or bandage recommended to hold it in place.
